The Northport Symphony Orchestra, founded in 2006, serves as the only community orchestra on the North Shore of Suffolk County, NY, that rehearses in the evening, allowing for musicians who work during daytime hours to have an opportunity to make music with their peers at a more accessible time
Now in our twelfth season, the Northport Symphony Orchestra presents a series of performances highlighted by world-class female soloists.
Join us for the first concert of our twelfth season, featuring works that will remind you of the European countryside.
From Vaughan Williams to Victor Herbert, our music will evoke images of peace, calm, and comfort as well as the joy and excitement of a country feast.
Closing this concert will be a performance of Haydn’s 101st Symphony, “The Clock".
Our season continues with the piano stylings of Sara Daneshpour. The Washington Post wrote of her performance with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra "...she created transfixing poetry. And she found delightful details in passagework and incidents that other pianists treat as routine." The Baltimore Sun stated that Sara "delivered a powerhouse account of Tchaikovsky's Concerto No.1 producing enough tone for two pianists in the process", while The Mercury News called her performance "...sensational. Strength, finesse, passion; it was all there."
Join us for our Spring Concert, featuring violinist Kinga Augustyn.
Kinga Augustyn is a Polish-born and New York City-based versatile classical concert violinist and recording artist gaining worldwide recognition through her performances as a concerto soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. She has been described as “an adventurous performer valuable to New York’s scene” (NY Concert Review), “stylish and vibrant…playing with verve and superb control” (The Strad Magazine), and “beyond amazing, one hell of a violinist!” (The Fanfare Magazine).
